Everyone's looking forward to a fun night of trick-or-treating tonight, but thanks to inflation, this Halloween is going to be quite a bit more expensive. You can expect to pay more for less when it comes to candy.

Certified Financial Planner Bill Dendy told KTRH, "The price of cocoa has just about doubled since the beginning of 2024. So they may not be giving out those full-sized chocolate bars this year."

But it's not just candy. Prices for decorations, costumes, and even party supplies have gotten higher, leading many Americans to cut back on their Halloween activities. Dendy said that, "Among millennials, about 20% said that they actually went into some debt to do some of the Halloween parties and costumes last year, that they might not do this year."

Dendy says overall, Halloween spending is expected to be around twice as high as it was a decade ago, but it will still be slightly lower than it was last year.
