So much for early voting helping Democrats Kamala Harris and Colin Allred in Texas.
Newsweek reports that 'significantly/ more Texans with Republican voting histories have turned out to vote than those who have historically voted for Democrats
Joshua Blank, the research director at the University of Texas at Austin's Texas Politics Project, told the liberal magazine there was "little indication of a Democratic surge" from the voting thus far. None of this surprises Texas Republican Party Chairman Abraham George, who says we are also seeing this in traditional Democrat strongholds statewide.
"In Harris County, 57 percent of the turnout that we can track is Republican. That's a really good number for us," Georgie said, adding that the same story is playing out across Texas.
"Places where we didn't used to lead, we are leading, George stated.
Early voting runs through November 1st, with polls open from 7am to 8pm in many locations.
