One of the largest podcasts in the world may have just gotten bigger with one of it's more recent guests.
While in Austin, Texas on Friday, former president Donald Trump made an appearance on the world-renowned Joe Rogan Experience podcast with comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan. The podcast has 14.5 million followers on Spotify. Episodes also air on the podcast's YouTube channel which has over 17.7 million subscribers.
Trump first spent the day in Austin talking about border security while at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Joining him were border patrol agents, local and state officials as well as Alexis Nungaray, the mother of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray who was sexually assaulted and then murdered in Houston by two illegal aliens from Venezuela in late June. Trump then joined Rogan for the 3 hour long sit-down chat at his studio located in Austin. The city is also the site of his comedy club located downtown, the Comedy Mothership.
The episode was posted Friday night. It has already surpassed 10 million views on YouTube as of Saturday morning.
The two discussed everything from what being President is like in the first few days, the situation at the southern border, energy and economic policies to mixed martial arts.
Rogan complimented Trump for his "comedic instincts" and having the “attitude of a comedian,” while working in the “dangerous” and “tough” business of running for president.
“One of the beautiful things about you is that you freeball,” Rogan said. “You get out and you do these huge events, and you’re just talking. That kind of stuff was unheard of as a politician, like no one had done that.”
“You know it’s funny, you need at least the attitude of a comedian when you’re doing this business,” Trump replied. “This is a very dangerous business. It’s a very tough business.”
The campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris said she turned down an offer to appear on the podcast with less than two weeks left until election day.
