A few weeks after Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel, the Israeli military says they have started their retaliatory strikes in Iran.
The Israeli Defense Forces say they are making precise strikes on military targets in the country. The strikes began around 1 a.m. local time in Iran. 140 Air Force planes were sent on the attack.
Iran has responded, and threatened to both launch another missile attack, and to block the Strait of Hormuz, which is a crucial oil passage.
The Israeli's reportedly contacted the White House before launching the strikes. The White House said the U.S. did not have any involvement.
