A Katy woman who is accused of passing herself off as a dentist will make court appearance today after police say she pulled out two teeth of a woman who needed a root canal.
Authorities say back in February, posing as a licensed dentist, Angelica Vivas charged a woman $1,300 cash to pull two teeth and perform a root canal. When that woman later had to go to a real dentist because of the pain, she also contacted police.
Undercover police visited Vivas’ office where they say she again claimed to be a dentist. She was arrested on charges of violating the Texas Dentistry Act. Vivas was released on a $50,000 bond.
