If you thought the left freaked out when Donald Trump won the White House in 2016, you haven't seen anything yet. That is the conclusion of respected political pollster Mark Halperin, who recently told Tucker Carlson that a Trump victory this year will cause "the greatest mental health crisis in the history of the country" among those on the left. Translation: the worst case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) we've ever seen could be incoming in two weeks.
Trump's 2017 inauguration was met with the infamous vagina-hat women's march on Washington D.C., which included the likes of Madonna fantasizing about "blowing up the White House" and Ashley Judd telling the crowd she hears "Hitler in these streets." But that could be tame compared to what will happen if Trump wins this time. Aside from the fact that left wing activists are already preparing to go after Trump with more lawfare and impeachment efforts, we could see a complete mental and emotional breakdown. "Based on the programming from the media and the conversations I have or see happening online from people on the left who are so convinced that Donald Trump is the end of the world and the end of democracy, I think (Halperin) has a point," says Anthony Russo, host and political analyst.
In recent days, left-wing commentators have claimed that Trump will use the military to round up Americans he doesn't like or will cancel future elections if he wins (a president can't do either of those things, even if they wanted to.) Joe Scarborough on MSNBC even said Trump is preparing for "civil war." With rhetoric like that, there's no telling how crazy these people will get if Trump actually wins. Russo says the Harris campaign is also feeding into this mindset with the constant talk of Trump being a threat to democracy. "Advertisements by the Harris campaign saying Trump is taking away abortion rights on a national level which is completely false, and talking about Project 2025 as Trump's program, which it is not," he tells KTRH. "I can see why people on the left will lose their mind, because they've been easily swayed to believe all the garbage out there."
