Governor Greg Abbott announced today that Texas is continuing to show its economic strength, once again outpacing national job growth by adding 327,400 nonfarm jobs over the last 12 months.
Abbott also announced that, according to the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas has achieved the highest labor force in the state's history, with nearly 15,450,000 people.
Abbott said in the statement, "Texas stands as a model for the nation: jobs are growing here, families are growing here, and opportunity is growing here."
Abbott says that Texas will remain the best state for job creation in the nation by "unleashing the power of entrepreneurs and innovators and training Texans for high-demand, good-paying jobs."
