It sounds like something out of a movie script, a really bad one. According to new findings from the U.S. House Select Committee on China, literally hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are actually helping China's military. No joke.
Apparently, it's been happening for decades, all in the form of taxpayer funded grants, for joint projects involving some of our U.S. universities and schools in China.
"This was money that was pumped into universities that partner with Chinese institutions" said Adam Kredo, reporter with The Washington Free Beacon. The only problem is, all of these 'institutions' are controlled by the Chinese government.
"The money is going into institutions over in China that have very clear ties to it's military industrial complex" Kredo told KTRH, "Nuclear weapons technology, semi-conductors, things of this nature."
The bottom line is, the joint projects ultimately provide back-door access to the CCP.
"Everything that China really wants to bring it's military to the cutting edge technology, and essentially beat America's military in developing that technology" noted Kredo.
The House Select Committee is now looking to pass legislation, to stop it.
