Just how divided is America right now? According to a new Gallup poll, 80% of U.S. adults believe that Americans are strongly divided on the key issues.
"For myself, I have seen this slide over at least the last 6 or 8 years, if not longer" said political analyst and author, Robert Charles, who is also a former Assistant Secretary of State. "The steepness of the slide is what is growing.
Unfortunately, he is spot on. According to Gallup, the 80% is a new all time high, up from 77% back in 2016. The percentage is up more than 10 points higher than from 2012.
"To see the nation as divided as it is right now, it is a profound disappointment and it should be by the way, to every American" Charles told KTRH.
The Gallup survey also found that for the first time decades, more voters identify as Republicans, than they do as Democrats.
And to help with the 'unity' for our nation, Robert Charles has a brand new book out, titled: Cherish America.
Let's hope we do, before we lose it.
