Colony Ridge, the north Houston development that has become a hotbed for cartel activity, is now facing multiple lawsuits from both the state and federal government. Despite efforts to have these lawsuits dismissed, the legal troubles continue.
Todd Bensman with the Center for Immigration Studies told KTRH, "These lawsuits have the potential to shut down any further expansion out there and possibly ruin the company."
Bensman says there are also allegations that Colony Ridge used false advertising and other predatory tactics to sell land to illegal aliens. According to Bensman, they would tell buyers the land was good, but it was actually in a flood zone and prone to flooding. They also allegedly promoted affordable pricing but charged massive interest rates.
The developers of Colony Ridge have continued to deny all allegations of wrongdoing, but they are facing investigations from multiple state and federal agencies, including the FBI and the IRS.
