Donald Trump has pledged to initiate the largest mass deportation operation in American history if re-elected, as part of his plan to end the ongoing border crisis. According to a new poll, 54 percent of people support the proposal.

Art Arthur, with the Center for Immigration Studies, told KTRH, "There's significant support. The key part is doing that in such a way that you don't turn off the public, you know, with mass raids or something like that."

Arthur says, in reality, things will probably be less dramatic. He said, "ICE and DHS know where the people under final orders of removal are. All they really need to do is knock on the door, pick them up, and begin the deportation process."

Arthur also says that starting the deportation process is a critical first step to restoring legitimacy and legality to the immigration system. He believes that many illegal aliens may return home voluntarily once deportations begin.
