It's been just over two months since Hurricane Beryl hit Houston. And now with Tropical Storm Francine forming in the Gulf, CenterPoint Energy says they will be ready for whatever happens.
Some though, aren't so sure.
"As we've learned following Hurricane Beryl, CenterPoint still has an awful lot of work to do to bring the grid up to nominal operating standards" said University of Houston Energy Fellow, Dr. Ed Hirs. "This has been a failure both by CenterPoint, and by the Public Utility Commission of Texas."
CenterPoint says they are prepared with thousands of workers standing by. So did they get the message?
"I certainly think they got the message" Dr. Hirs told KTRH, "The issue is whether or not CenterPoint is going to listen to the message."
We shall see, as we wait and see with Tropical Storm Francine.
