Sentencing in Donald Trump’s Manhattan conviction has been delayed until November 26th, after the election.
In his decision, Judge Juan Merchan wrote that, “Given the unique facts and circumstances of this case, there is no reason why this Defendant should be treated any differently than any other.”
This is the second time that sentencing has been pushed back. Trump was supposed to be sentenced in July, following his conviction in June. That was postponed until mid-September. Now it will take place three weeks after the election.
Judge Merchan has come under scrutiny because of his political history and his daughter’s close ties to Democrats.
