'Election Season' officially kicks off today, as ballots begin being mailed out today in North Carolina, and in several key like Pennsylvania later this month.
"I would say early voting now is a little different because obviously Trump is completely defined, and Kamala Harris having a lot of unanswered questions" said Robert Cahaly, voting guru with The Trafalgar Group, "If you're voting in this race, even before the debate, there's a lot of things you don't know about Kamala Harris that might change your mind."
With that said, the 2024 presidential election is still going to be decided in those 7 key battleground states.
"Every single battleground state according to the most recent polling that we did, every state is within the margin of error of the 7 states" Cahaly told KTRH, "So that give you some sense of exactly how tight we're looking right now."
Which is the answer, but it leads to another key question. Will most Americans cast their ballots before November 5th?
"I don't know that most of them will cast their ballot" noted Cahaly, "I still think we're going to see a significant amount of people who vote on election day. Now as far as making up their minds? I think that most will make up their minds, but it's going to come down to people deciding whether they're going to vote."
In addition to the battleground states, Cahaly says Republicans are making a strong surge in Virginia.
