The Constitution requires that the President be a natural-born citizen. That rule is now being challenged by an Indian-American born in Mumbai, Shiva Ayyadurai. He moved to America when he was 7 and became a citizen in 1983.

The Federalist's Matt Kittle says, "His argument is, that's good enough, and he should be protected under the First Amendment, and he has the ability to do this."

Kittle says he wouldn't be surprised to see the Democrat Party push more of this type of behavior. He said, "It is part and parcel of the Democratic Party's push to bring non-citizens, foreign nationals, and illegal immigrants into the voting sphere."

Currently, Ayyadurai has secured a position on the ballot in Minnesota, Washington, and Iowa.
