Comptroller Glenn Hegar Blasts Lawsuit Against Texas’ ESG Restrictions

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar spoke with KTRH about a radical left wing group that is trying to over the state's ESG law.

SB-13 was passed in 2021, and it prevents the state government from entering into contracts with firms that boycott oil and gas.

"And now we have this far left wing group that is essentially suing Texas, and the reality is, really what they're trying to do is just hide their own agenda."

That left wing group is the 'American Sustainable Business Coalition', and their game plan is pretty simple. Push the green agenda.

"They're trying to say that all oil and gas is gonna go away, when in reality every component of your daily life touches a petroleum product" Hegar told KTRH, "It's a dishonest conversation."

The truth is, ESG portfolios left on their own, struggle.

"I think at the end of the day, the state will win this lawsuit" noted Hegar, "But really to me, I just wanted to make a strong statement that really there just hiding their own personal agenda which is to try to force companies to essentially do in the best interests of what they want, instead of the share holders."
