There is still more Democrat corruption in Harris County. The top county health official, Barbie Robinson has been fired after reports surfaced of a $6 million dollar contract scandal between the County and Sonoma County. Robinson worked in California before being hired in 2021.
“Today, I made the difficult decision to dismiss Barbie Robinson from her role as Executive Director of Harris County Public Health." said Harris County Administrator, Donna Ramirez.
Deputy County Administrator Leah Barton will now step in as interim executive director of Harris County Public Health. The HCPH has launched a national search to find a new executive director.
Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey released a statement to our tv partner, KPRC 2 Investigates, and said he has had concerns for a while.
“I’ve been for the last two-plus years expressing concerns of the hiring of a consultant from northern California, Dema. That is why I haven’t supported any motions to hire or pay Dema,” Ramsey said.
Ramsey also told KPRC 2 that he believes the termination now requires further scrutiny from county commissioners.
“We are going to need to do a complete audit of the health department and contracts. Transparency is important and using judgement when it comes to hiring out of state contractors,” he said.
