Disturbed Weather in Gulf Given Low Chance of Development

The National Hurricane Center is watching an area of disturbed weather in the Gulf of Mexico, near the Texas coast.

As of Saturday morning, the National Hurricane Center gives that system a low (20%) chance of development over the next seven days.

On Facebook, Harris County Meteorologist Jeff Lindner wrote, “Low chance (20%) that the surface trough along the upper TX coast attempts to close off a surface low over the next several days as it lingers. Something to be aware is out there, but little reason for concern.”

The National Hurricane Center did point out that this system could result in some flooding along the Texas and Louisiana coast.

Keep in mind that Hurricane Beryl hit at the end of the July 4th weekend.
