Hurry Up and Vote: Dems Rush Harris to the Finish Line

Democrats are trying to pull off the biggest bait-and-switch operation in political history. Less than four months before Election Day and long after the primaries were over, they switched out President Joe Biden for Vice President Kamala Harris, elevating her to the top of the ticket without any public vote or scrutiny. Now, it appears they are trying to run out the clock and get her over the finish line with minimal exposure. As author and political strategist Allan J. Feifer writes, "Democrats have come up with a frighteningly effective strategy of obscuration."

In more than one month as a presidential candidate, Harris has yet to do any interviews, news conferences, town halls, or any unscripted remarks or appearances. She even disappeared from the campaign trail altogether for five days after last week's Democratic National Convention. "Her campaign doesn't trust Kamala Harris enough to speak regularly," says Kellyanne Conway, former Trump advisor in an interview on Fox News. "This is amazing to me...they're so excited about a woman, and the sexists and misogynists in her campaign aren't allowing the woman to travel alone or speak on her own extemporaneously to members of the media."

For now, Democrats seem to be banking on vague statements and fawning mainstream media coverage to get them to November. But Conway warns this strategy could backfire when Harris has to debate Trump (as she's scheduled to do at least once.) "Donald Trump is preparing for debates every single day by doing (public events) and facing the media," says Conway. "And she's not doing it...let me tell you something, if you're not practicing those muscles, if you don't have that muscle memory for debates, you can't just show up and have people stuff your head with that."

"Joe Biden didn't just lose that debate two months ago, Donald Trump won it, and he can do that again against Kamala Harris."
