Independent candidate for President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Friday that he is suspending his campaign for the White House and is endorsing Republican candidate Donald Trump.
RFK Jr. joined the former President on stage during his rally in Glendale, Arizona, just hours after making the announcement of putting his campaign for President on hold. Trump introduced RFK Jr. to the 20,000 people in attendance. Kennedy came out to thunderous applause and a fireworks show inside the Desert Diamond Arena.
Kennedy, who's uncle John F. Kennedy served as President until his assassination in 1963, said he has been asked by Trump to be a part of his cabinet if elected President. Trump said he would like to establish an independent presidential commission on assassination attempts that includes releasing all the remaining documents related to the assassination of JFK.
RFK Jr. said he and Trump met more than once ever since last month when Trump was nearly killed in an assassination attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
"We talked not about the things that separate us because we don't agree on everything, but on the values and the issues that bind us together," Kennedy said Friday evening at the rally.
Trump called RFK Jr. a "great person" and a "phenomenal man who loves the people of this country."
