Texas A&M offers new DEI course despite state laws banning it

For note, this article is being written by a Texas A&M graduate, and lifelong Aggie. The University has continued a downward slope to become a shell of its former self for multiple years now. It has veered far to the left with hiring Michael Young as president, Ross Bjork as Athletic Director, and now, appointing Mark Walsh as its new president.

The one Republican-strong school has slipped into the abyss, and been bought by Democrat influences to a point of becoming unrecognizable. Last year, the school got in a huge fight over hiring a DEI dean, to then fire her amid backlash, and pay her $1 million. The state shortly afterward ended up banning DEI initiatives in state schools, barring them from offering such courses to students.

Well, Texas A&M has decided they simply will say 'no' to that law. They are offering a new DEI course once again for the Fall 2024 semester, called 'Social Justice Leadership.' It is yet another move to the Left for a school that used to have values, dignity, and most importantly, a backbone.

Political consultant Luke Macias says A&M just does not care anymore.

"They have very little intention of following direction of the legislature," he says. "They should act when they come back in session to penalize them and tie their hands even further."

Basically, A&M is taking advantage of a loophole. Which, while ridiculous, is not illegal. Because it is a certificate offered by the Bush School; it stays under the table from the law.

While changes to the loopholes are certainly going to come, that still will not stop A&M. That is because, as mentioned in the beginning, the Leftist Blue stain has soaked all the way into the fabric of the administraiton, top to bottom.

"At one point, Texas A&M has more DEI full-time employee than the University of Texas at Austin," he says.

Think about that a moment. For year, Texas has been known as the liberal arts school that caters to DEI. And Texas A&M outdid even them with DEI staffing. Beyond concerning, for any lifelong Aggies, that is just a heartbreaking thing, seeing the school spiral into the depths of the lunatic Left.

All of these positions are there for one reason, and that is to brainwash the next generation into the Left agenda. That, plus making it look like you are some super progressive school, to make it grow even further than it already has.

But there is a little hope. Chancellor John Sharp has reportedly expressed intent to step down from his position next year, which would leave the school searching for a new system leader. That could be a big fork in the road.

"Who they hire to replace him...will greatly determine whether the university is going to push back, and eat away at the rock of the institution, or just embrace the new Left," he says.

In other words, the school needs to grow a backbone and stand up to the ridiculous DEI policies it is trying to desperately implement. But until that happens, Texas A&M is set to continue its slide into the unrecoverable.
