For the fifth year in a row, families in Texas have not received the full picture telling them how their schools are performing.

In fact, a Travis County judge has blocked the Texas Education Agency from releasing its ratings of the state’s school districts and campuses for a second year in a row. Christian Collins with the Texas Youth Summit says this is outrageous.

"Families deserve to know exactly how each school matches up when they are making decisions. This is why school choice is so important," Collins told KTRH. "We need to make sure families have options."

Judge Karin Crump issued a temporary restraining order the same day Texas school districts filed their second lawsuit over the state’s changes to the metrics used to measure their performance. They are objecting because of a new automated system that is being used to grade STARR tests.
