Harris County Democrats Move to Revive Basic Income Program

At Least 8 Killed And Dozens Injured After Crowd Surge At Astroworld Concert

While everyone was focusing on the antics of Judge Lina Hidalgo, Democrat Harris County Commissioners made a move to revive their 'Uplift Harris' program.

The vote was 4-t0-1 with the lone Republican, Precinct 3's Tom Ramsey, voting against it.

The county voted to give $500 payments for 18 months to 1,928 low-income Harris County households as selected by lottery. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton took it to court, and the Texas Supreme Court ordered that an indefinite stay remain in place.

But that got lost in the shuffle as Judge Hidalgo had a meltdown in Commissioners Court, attacking Precinct Two Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Ramsey, and Precinct 4's Lesley Briones.
