Vice President and Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris has officially announced that her running mate is Minnesota Governor Tim Walz today on X. In a post she said, "It's great to have him on the team. Now let’s get to work."
The frontrunners for the nomination were Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Tim Walz.
Shapiro could have helped Harris secure Pennsylvania due to his high approval rating in the traditionally purple state. However, concerns about his Jewish heritage and previous support for Israel might affect Harris' support among the radical left base.
Walz has a record of being a far-left governor, presiding over strict lockdowns in his state during COVID-19, even going as far as to create a hotline for people to report their neighbors who violated COVID mandates. He also allowed rioters to run wild across Minnesota after the death of George Floyd.
He is also incredibly light on illegal immigration, even going as far as to allow illegal aliens in his state to receive drivers' licenses.
