Another major company is fleeing California for greener pastures here in Texas.
On Friday, Chevron announced it was moving its headquarters from San Ramon, California to Houston. The move should be completed by the end of the year. They will join the other Chevron teams that are already in town. They hope the move will allow them to collaborate better and engage with executives, employees, and business partners.
Chevron said it currently has roughly 7,000 employees in the Houston area and approximately 2,000 employees in San Ramon. The company operates crude oil fields, technical facilities, and two refineries and supplies more than 1,800 retail stations in California.
