The Democratic party is now throwing it's support behind vice president Kamala Harris after shooing away Joe Biden from seeking reelection.
Harris, who has not received a single primary vote, has received endorsements from top Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, the Clintons and the Obamas ever since Biden dropped out of the race for president.
Travis County Republican Party Communications Director Andy Hogue said the Democrats have decided to ignore the primary process and elections by tabbing Harris as their nominee before the Democratic convention.
"Instead of having the rare opportunity where a convention can vet some candidates and make a decision where delegates can actually do what they're supposed to do and elected to do by our primary process, they're ignoring the primary process," Hogue said.
Money is flying in for Harris, a former California prosecutor and U.S. Senator. Following Biden’s announcement of stepping down, the Harris campaign said they raised over $100 million in the first 36 hours.
As the money comes in from donors, so does the media's backing. Hogue said it's clear that the fix is in.
"They went from ignoring her as the second banana to nothing but her all day long," said Hogue. "The show we've been getting for the last two or three years has been about 'saving our democracy' and 'stopping the insurrection.'"
Some mainstream outlets have also already been trying to erase history when it comes to Harris' record. The once touted "border czar" only visited the southern border in Texas once according to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. Some outlets have claimed recently that Harris was never tasked with overseeing the border.
Hogue sees Harris as more of a threat to the country than Biden or any other Democrat becoming president.
"She's much more liberal, she's much more into DEI and BLM," he said.
