The issue of abortion has been a fight in America for multiple decades now, and it is no surprise it is yet again a major issue for the 2024 election. Even as massive issues present themselves with the economy, the border, and foreign policy, it appears Kamala Harris is set to make the topic a focal point of her campaign for President.
That is no real surprise to anyone who follow politics, as Harris has been a champion for abortion within the Biden Administration. She has been their 'border czar,' along the way, but she could also be called their 'abortion czar.'
Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values says this is a tricky play for Kamala.
"She has some of the most extreme abortion views of any current elected official, and certainly of any in recent history...and that is not going to play well," he says.
A recent poll showed that a decent majority of Americans, north of 60 percent, support limitations on abortion after the first trimester. Kamala comes from the school of believing post-term abortions are okay. She is not even in the same stratosphere with American beliefs.
She will likely get tons of money from Planned Parenthood and will surely campaign on reinstituting Roe v. Wade. All of it part of her deluded fantasy that Americans care about that issue, and she will win because of it. When in reality, Americans care less about the issue than ever.
"A lot of voters care about the economy and the border...she was the border czar, and she has never even been to the border," he says.
Among common complaints from Americans has been politicians not listening to them and focusing on their own agendas. Kamala appears to be following the same mold, ignoring what Americans think. It might cost her dearly in November, too.
"People are tired of it...they want to see our country prioritized, they want to feel safe...they want to feel they will have money in their pockets," he says.
