Cornyn Sounds Alarm: Schumer’s Senate Working Just 18 Days Until November

With over 3 months to go until November, Texas Senator John Cornyn is sounding the alarm, because majority leader Chuck Schumer has the Senate only working 18 days between now and November.

"I find it more than a little embarrassing, when there's so much going on in the world and we are just missing in action" Cornyn said, "But majority leader Schumer is the one who sets the schedule."

So why is Schumer giving the Senate so many days off? The main reason why is pretty simple. The election.

"I think from his perspective, in an election year he realizes that they're playing defense, and I think he wants to give his incumbents as much time as possible" Cornyn told KTRH, "Unfortunately, the nation's business is suffering as a result."

If that's not bad enough, Schumer somehow expects that 14 bills can be passed in the Senate over those 18 days. Some of the items on the agenda include, the National Defense Authorization Act, Kids on-line safety, and even a farm bill.
