We are all used to seeing GOP leaders talk a big game about holding the Biden administration and the left accountable, but nothing ever seems to change. So why has virtually every aspect of politics become so performative?
Newsmax contributor Jeffery Lord says the media is at least partially to blame here. He told KTRH, "With all of the social media, people having thoughts and talking about things gets absolutely blown all over the place." In short, politicians are chasing those viral sound bites.
Lord says that he does expect voters to actually start holding elected officials accountable for their actions though, starting with Kamala Harris and the Biden administration. He said, "History says that when you've got a president where things go off track, voters do respond to that."
Lord says another major factor in things not getting done could also be growing partisanship, which unfortunately will likely always play some role in our political system.
