While speaking on his podcast, "Verdict with Ted Cruz," the Texas senator warned Republicans that Kamala Harris could still be a threat to Trump's chances in November. He said, "I still think Trump wins... but this is not a layup."

Cruz stated, "Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline."

Cruz pointed out that Kamala Harris will likely receive billions of dollars worth of free media, with the mainstream media promoting her as a historic figure. He says that she'll likely be promoted as, "a combination of Mother Teresa, Oprah, and Gandhi."

Since Biden dropped out on Sunday afternoon and endorsed Harris to replace him, she has secured endorsements from major players in the Democrat Party, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi.

The Associated Press has also reported that Harris has received the backing of some 1,976 delegates, which would allow her to officially receive the Democrat Party nomination without having ever received a single vote while running in a presidential primary.
