West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is calling for a mini primary to give Democratic voters a chance to pick their presidential nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race yesterday afternoon.
Manchin told "CBS Mornings" that he wasn't planning to run but expressed disbelief that such a process wasn't taking place.
So far, Kamala Harris is the only person to have formally declared candidacy for the Democratic nomination since Joe Biden dropped out of the race yesterday. She has received endorsements from Joe Biden, as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Former President and GOP Presidential Nominee Donald Trump took to his social media site TruthSocial to respond to Biden's announcement, saying that Joe was "not fit to serve – and never was."
