A major internet outages has grounded all flights from several major airlines.
Despite a local TV report, there was no ground stoppage at either Bush or Hobby airport. However, since United and Delta have been affected, expect delays.
In fact, between the two airports, there have been hundreds of delays and cancellations so far today
This is the same Microsoft issue that stopped all Frontier Airlines flights for hours on Thursday. Microsoft says they have resolved the issue on their end.
The cybersecurity firm 'CrowdStrike’ said issue was apparently with an update, not any security issue.
There are other local impacts of the outage:
- Harris Health canceled elective procedures today. Outpatient visits have resumed.
- Port Houston's Barbours Cut and Bayport Container Terminals have reopened .
- Texas DPS Drivers License offices are closed.
