Beryl: CenterPoint Still Has More than 50K Customers in the Dark

Widespread Outages Continue In Houston After Hurricane Beryl Knocked Out Power For Millions

As of 3am this morning, CenterPoint still has more than 50,000 customers in the dark. This is the tenth day those customers have ben without air conditioning, refrigeration, and potable water.

Elsewhere:

  • Entergy was still working on getting all of their customers back online after promising to do so by last night.
  • A lineman working to restore power in Galveston is arrested after beating a co-worker, leaving that person in critical condition.
  • The death toll from the storm has risen to at least sixteen people; six of those deaths attributed to the heat.
  • There are increased efforts to spray for mosquitos in Brazoria and Matagorda counties. We are also seeing more mosquitoes in Harris and Fort Bend counties.
