The Republican National Convention continues in Milwaukee today after the party solidified its ticket last night.
Donald Trump selected JD Vance, the US Senator from Ohio, as his running mate. Trump also officially locked up the nomination, and appeared on the convention floor just two days after surviving an assassination attempt. It was his first appearance since being shot last Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Trump's last standing Republican challenger in the primary, Nikki Haley, will be one of the featured speakers today. Haley was not originally on the convention schedule, but was invited to speak last week.
Among the other speakers today include Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake, and West Virginia's Jim Justice.
The theme for today in Milwaukee is "Make America Safe Again."
