Beryl Recovery: Under 400K Still Without Power; Three Heat Related Deaths

Widespread Outages Continue In Houston After Hurricane Beryl Knocked Out Power For Millions

Here is he latest on the recovery efforts from Hurricane Beryl:

  • CenterPoint says there are still more than 386,000 customers without power as of Sunday afternoon.
  • They hope to have 85% of those affected back online by the end of the weekend.
  • Coastal counties like Matagorda, Brazoria, and parts of Galveston will still not be restored by next week.
  • There have been three heat related deaths to the power issues; two men and a woman died of hypothermia.
  • Federal aid has been approved by FEMA for 15 counties including Harris and Galveston.
  • Comcast says 60% of its customers have their cable and internet service back.
  • We still do not have a number of impacted customers from AT&T.
