We are four days into the Hurricane Beryl recovery effort, and there are still nearly 1 million CenterPoint Energy customers across the Houston area who are without power.
According to CenterPoint's outage tracker, there are currently around 875,000 people waiting for their power to come back on.
In an effort to respond to the community's concerns about Transparency, CenterPoint has released a new outage Tracker, which can be found here.
However, many still opt to use the Whataburger app to track the progress of power restoration.
CenterPoint Energy's SVP Darin Carroll will joined Houston's Morning News at discuss the company's recovery work. He said, "We understand the frustration of our communities, and those folks that are most impacted by this, and we own the fact that our communications can be better."
Carroll did say that CenterPoint is proud of the work that they have done so far. He also said that rumors that CenterPoint hasn't negotiated contracts with out of state linemen are unsubstantiated.
