How An Octogenarian President Could Change Control Of Congress

Not only is Joe Biden's age issue hurting his fellow Democrats, it could also lead to a shift of control in congress.

As pointed out by Chris Jacobs at The Federalist, due to the razor thin majorities in both the House and the Senate, a sudden Joe Biden departure would change things, to say the least.

"This is an issue from now until November" said political commentator Anthony Russo, "And then if we are looking at two older candidates, it then becomes an issue looking at the whole next four years as well."

It places even more importance on the V.P. pick. And when it comes to Biden, Kamala Harris taking over would take away her vote in the Senate.

"Even if it was Trump or if it was Biden, you have two very old guys" Russo told KTRH, "Octogenarian's that could potentially need the 25th amendment invoked, so it shows the importance of where the congress lies."

He adds that if we had a split in the Senate, Republicans would then have a say in who the replacement pick for V.P. would be, if Harris were to take over before November.
