Biden has been able to maintain a decent fundraising lead over Trump for most of the campaign, but now Democrats are sounding the alarm about Trump’s war chest. Thanks to recent fundraising, the Trump campaign now has over $116 million.
GOP consultant Matt Mackowiak says that it's no secret why Trump is doing so well. He said, "The outrageous verdict in the Manhattan case put Trump's fundraising on steroids, and raised something like $50 million in the first 48 hours."
Mackowiak also says that this surge in fundraising makes it clear that Trump has the wind at his back. He says that "There's just really no question about that at this point. He's ahead nationally, even in the battleground states. It's increasingly clear that Trump has multiple paths to get to 270 electoral votes."
According to Mackowiak, the key is now to make sure that that money is spent effectively in key battleground states and districts.
