After mounting criticism, New York Judge & Joe Biden supporter, Juan Merchan today finally lifted part of the gag order against former president Donald Trump.
Considering that the corrupt case was already decided, and sentencing is coming up on July 11th, pundits across the country couldn't believe that the gag order was still in place.
"It still is this disconnect as to why we're even talking about a gag order at this stage" said law professor Jonathan Turley on FOX, "To not acknowledge that this is a presidential campaign, and this is one of the big issues in that presidential campaign, I think is really nonsense."
Trump is now free to speak about witnesses such as Stormy Daniels, and Michael Cohen. Trump, however, cannot discuss any prosecutor, court staffer or their family members as the latest order from Merchan upholds that portion of the gag order. That part of the gag order remains in effect at least until his sentencing.
The new order Tuesday also lifts the bar on public statements about jurors but notes disclosure of any personally identifying information of any juror is still prohibited.
