Trump has been making inroads with several traditionally Democrat demographics and in Democrat strongholds, including with young voters. Trump is now within 2 points of Joe Biden with voters between ages 18-29.
Wendell Husebo with Breitbart News says there's a very clear reason for this. He said, "People graduating college were very discouraged when they all of a sudden had to pay massive rent prices, and massive food prices."
Husebo says he thinks this shift to Trump will only continue as we get closer to the November election. He said, "I think that young voters will absolutely feel the pain come November, because inflation is still rising, costs are still rising."
He says if the GOP wants to keep this momentum with younger voters going, then they should model their message to be more like Trump's, and less like the more traditional GOP.
