A Growing Number of Voters Might Sit Out The 2024 Election

People are calling this year's election one of the most important in American history, but the voters aren't getting the message, and they might not show up in November. According to a YouGov poll, nearly 20% of eligible voters might not cast a ballot.

Political Strategist Bill Miller thinks this is a result of political burnout. He says, "They're not interested in either party, either candidate, and the issues depress them. As a consequence, they're not gonna take responsibility and vote."

Miller says that those voters sitting out might actually benefit Trump. He says the environment right now is "anti-incumbency, anti-status-quo, for a variety of reasons."

Miller said that right now, the best way for a candidate to draw out voters in this political environment is not to put the focus on themselves and their accomplishments, but to instead focus on all the negative aspects of their opposition. He thinks we will see a lot more of that from both Trump and Biden in the coming months.
