The Open Border crowd is now saying that we can't deport the millions of illegal aliens that are now in America because it will be too expensive. Left-wing outlets are estimating the cost to be around $400 billion, but that might be a stretch.
According to Steven Camarota with the Center for Immigration Studies, the real cost of mass deportations does vary, but on the high end, it's only around $120 billion. Camarota says that's actually a pretty good deal for the taxpayers. Camarota said that the fiscal cost to taxpayers created by illegal aliens is around $750 billion.
Camarota also says that we likely won't even need to deport every single illegal alien. He says if we simply restrict benefits, limit illegal aliens' access to things like jobs and driver's licenses, and simply increase the rate of deportations, they will likely return to their home countries on their own.
