12 Jurors and four alternates were selected yesterday in the gun trial of the President's son Hunter Biden. Now, opening arguments are taking place inside a Delaware courthouse in the first-ever trial of a sitting President's son.
Nearly every potential juror said that they knew someone who either was experiencing a substance abuse problem or had experienced one in the past. Almost all of them also said that they had heard about the case in the news.
Hunter Biden was joined in court by numerous family members, including his Stepmother, First Lady Jill Biden. He faces up to 25 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
Hunter is being charged with making false statements in the purchase of a firearm, as well as possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. The court came back into session at 9:00 am Eastern time, with opening arguments as first order of business.
