After nearly three weeks of testimony, closing arguments will be delivered today in the Manhattan hush money trial of former President Trump. Jury deliberations will likely begin today. There have already been arguments over the nature of the jury instructions.
Prosecutors have argued that the jury should be instructed that even if Trump didn't have any role in the alleged falsifying of business records, he could still be liable and found guilty. The defense urged Judge Juan Merchan to consider the "extraordinarily important" nature of this case when issuing his jury instructions, but Merchan denied that request.
Closing arguments are expected to last through today and will be followed by around one hour of jury instructions. Jury deliberations are expected to begin tomorrow. The defense will make their closing arguments first when court comes back into session at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.
