The border crisis has led to an increase in various types of crime. Now, the cartels bringing that crime are beginning to take root here in our cities. Even in Texas cities, Mexico's most ruthless are expanding their influence.
Breitbart's Ildefonso Ortiz told KTRH, "In the last 15 years, you have had five border sheriffs who have gone to prison for taking money from cartels, working with cartels, and so forth." Ortiz also says the cartels are bringing their violent turf wars to America with them.
He says cartels have been employing local street gangs, as well as prison gangs, to carry out the violent crimes that normally cartel hitmen in Mexico would be responsible for. Ortiz says this method has given local politicians the ability to dismiss the growing cartel violence as just common street crime.
Ortiz says one of the many ways to mitigate this problem is for the United States to put political pressure on the Mexican officials who are allowing these cartels to grow inside Mexico and then spread outward to the United States.
