Galveston Redistricting Case Will be Decided by The Fifth Circuit

The fate of Galveston County's election map is now in the hands of the fifth circuit court of appeals. A win by Galveston County here could cost democrats big across all levels of government. Despite what they claim however, this isn't some noble Democrat crusade against racial injustice.

Galveston County Commissioner Dr. Robin Armstrong told KTRH, "The Democrats are all about political power, they really don't care about any of these racial groups frankly. You can tell that by looking at some of the results we've seen over the last 40 to 50 years."

Dr. Armstrong says the Democrats could very well have shot themselves in the foot here, because if they loose this lawsuit, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi will no longer have to draw majority minority districts that lean left. This will force democrats to actually campaign on policy, and not rely on racial politics.

Dr. Armstrong says he does expect Galveston County to win in the fifth circuit, however, the case Supreme Court will likely have to rule on this issue eventually.
