Joe Biden is now taking steps to protect his most reliable allies, the deep state, by announcing new regulations that make it even harder to fire federal employees. But why do Democrats always go out of their way to protect these bureaucrats?
Rick Manning, President of Americans for Limited Government, told KTRH, "The Left wants a growing, bigger bureaucracy, and people on the right typically want a smaller, more constrained bureaucracy." This, he says, makes Democrats and bureaucrats natural allies.
Manning also pointed out that, on top of being biased, these bureaucrats often fail to perform their jobs adequately. He said, "They're no longer fulfilling a civil service role, they're fulfilling a political role. You have to be able to fire those people. You have to be able to fire people who are incompetent, people who can't do their job."
Manning suggests that Congress needs to pass laws to create an expedited process for firing federal employees who don't do their jobs properly, similar to the procedures instituted for the Veterans Affairs Administration.
