Inflation, despite what you are likely to hear from the White House, remains a problem.

The April numbers show that prices rose 0.3% in April, only slightly lower than the 0.4% that was predicted. The year over year number was 3.4% for April, which is down from 3.5% in March.

The Federal Reserve, which has stated it wants inflation at 2%, has raised interest rates to their highest levels in decades. But it's been too little, too late for some observers.

"The Fed is using a water pistol to put out a fiscal fire," financial planner Richard Rosso told Houston's Morning News, adding that they were "late to the game."

The Fed meets again on June 11th.

In the meantime, the White House doubled down on a lie Joe Biden told about inflation last week during an interview on CNN.
