The temperatures are heating up, and as they rise, so does violent crime across Houston.
At least three people had been shot in what looks like a drive-by in the parking lot of a Foot Locker. That was one of two shootings that we know about from Sunday night.
That followed what was an even more violent Saturday night, when there were six separate shootings that killed three people and injured another six. Those shootings all took place within a five hour span.
In one shooting, a pizza delivery driver was confronted by two men in an apparent robbery attempt. That driver shot and killed a man. The shooter is cooperating, and the case is going to a grand jury.
This was the first full weekend on the top cop's job for HPD Interim Chief Larry Satterwhite, who took over for the now retired Troy Finner.
