Storms to Threaten Houston Area this Mother's Day

Another round of storms is headed to the Houston area this Mother's Day.

A flood watch is in place into Monday for Madison, Houston, Trinity, San Jacinto and Walker Counties. Another 2-4″ of rain is possible, with downpours of 6″ in some areas.

Montgomery County is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 3PM Sunday.

We could also see widespread showers and storms on Monday with the threat for some to be strong to severe.

Rain totals could reach 2″ to 4″ the exceptions will be northeast of I-10 where communities could touch 6″ or more if we see training storms ( storms moving over the same area repeatedly). On the opposite end near the coast could struggle to hit an inch.

After tomorrow's rain, we should be in the clear until late this week.
